SavannahITCsThe City of Savannah Georgia, is considered by many to be the most haunted place in the United States.  Established in 1733, Savannah was as the first colonial capital of the province of Georgia.  Savannah’s founder General James Oglethorpe laid out the town in a ward system.  The centerpiece of each ward included a square which was designed to promote a sense of community within the ward and also serve as a site for military defense.  Savannah’s architecture, history, reputation for Southern charm and hospitality are internationally known.

Savannah has seen battles during every war fought on the continental United States, from the Revolutionary War to the Civil War.  In the 1800s, Savannah experienced several epidemics of Yellow Fever as well as two devastating fires that left half of the city in ashes.  Some of the original burial grounds have been built over.  Savannah’s turbulent past and the many untimely deaths that occurred, contribute to Savannah’s reputation of being the most haunted city in the US.
